Victoria Police After the Christchurch Earthquake

Dear Feebee,

Thanks to you and your team for the support you provided to the Australian Police Contingent during our tour of duty in Christchurch after the devastating earthquake this year.

Our people worked with our New Zealand colleagues and other emergency workers to maintain law and order and to help the Canterbury community start its rebuilding process. In doing so our people worked in arduous circumstances, being away from family and loved ones for an extended period performing unenviable tasks in high-pressure and often emotion-charged circumstances. They worked very long hours exposed to the elements and rigours of police work.

The service you and your team provided with massage and Bioptron light therapy helped our people manage their stress and get the most from their downtime. The feedback I received from our troops who availed themselves of your service was very positive. It gave them the space they needed to transition from the pressure of their tasks into best utilising their recovery time in preparation for their next shift.

Personally, I found the treatments very relaxing and helpful after long days at the helm commanding a large police contingent in a difficult environment.
