Bioptron Testimonial

Mare's Stifle Haematoma After a Fall

B
Testimonial from Bridget Sutton

Dear Heidi,

As you know, following a nasty fall, my mare tore a muscle very badly above the stifle, which left a significant haematoma around the stifle region. After about two weeks when it had been drained a number of times, and was cleared that the bleeding had ceased, my Veterinary Surgeon recommended therapy to assist with the breaking down of the clotted blood.

At the time she put me in touch with yourself and your Bioptron Light Therapy.

The prognosis for the complete reabsorption of the haematoma, under natural circumstances, was four to six months. This would also likely have resulted in some fibroses which, for a competitive event horse was not ideal.

I used your red and purple light therapy on the haematoma daily for a period of approximately five weeks. She even seemed to enjoy the therapy. In this time the clot was reduced significantly. So much so that the mare is back in work and Veterinary advice is that the remaining swelling will disperse during normal exercise.

The Veterinary Surgeon, whose advice the horse was under, expressed her pleasure that your Bioptron Light had very significantly increased the reabsorption rate of the haematoma as compared with the body's natural healing process.

Thank you very much for getting my horse back to competitive work sooner than expected.

Yours sincerely
Bridget Sutton
