John Casey's Diabetic Foot Wound Recovery

2nd October, 2002.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

That was what I was hoping to hear on 15th May this year. I shall explain. I have just turned 60 and have been a diabetic, on Insulin injections, since age 14, and at that stage taking 16 units of 24-hour insulin, 16 units short-term before breakfast, 14 units for lunch and 14 for dinner. I like to think that my life has been uneventful, enjoying rugby as a youth and fishing ever since, but on looking back I find things have happened to me.

I have had quite bad psoriasis for about 25 years. I lost my left eye through retinopathy about 16 years ago. My kidneys have been slowly giving up, due for dialysis in May this year. I lost my left leg 3 years ago, and the surgeon has been attacking my right leg earlier this year. I lost 3 toes in March this year, and now have two left. I am a bit bald on top but have always felt I was reasonably healthy.

Most diabetics seem to have trouble with legs and particularly toes. I was advised to take great care of what I had left. Circulation was poor so there was difficulty with healing. After sitting around home trying to get the large wound in my right foot to heal, the first month seemed extremely slow.

On 15th May my District Nurse mentioned that she had just had a talk at the Hospital by a lady who was promoting a new type of healing light. Would I like to try it? I of course, said yes. What was there to lose (apart from toes)

We photographed the wound (photos enclosed) and decided we would check in 4 days. I used the light for a few minutes each day, placing a gauze cover each time. No dressing. I showed the nurse 4 days later, and she was totally amazed at the advance in healing. We have continued this process for four months and that large open wound has steadily healed. No infection and no regression. The foot is now completely healed. Both my nurse and myself are completely amazed.

Along with the light, (BIOPTRON) I have more recently started taking AMBROTOSE powder 4 times daily, as supplied by the same lady, Judy Alvos. This is a new product for New Zealand and is made initially in USA where it started in late 1990's. I am skeptical about most treatments but have to say the effect on my body is remarkable. I was shad to start kidney dialysis some 4 months ago and had a plastic tube inserted into my left arm for this. At this stage now there is apparently no need. My Renal Surgeon is surprised.

I place the blame for my good fortune on several people, but mainly,
1. my district nurse who suggested the treatment to me, and was willing to see it through with no alternate dressings of any sort, and was totally delighted with the result.
2. my good friend Judy Alvos who steered me through with the light and the Ambrotose at the last minute for what was my failing body.

I now take 13 units of 24-hour insulin, 13 breakfast dose, 6 lunchtime and 7 evening. A big drop.

Bioptron light was introduced on the 15th of May on referral, after 7 weeks of light

I introduced John to the Mannatech product (cellular communication) to deal with insulin in the course of diabetic gangrene and amputation.

Bioptron (also works on a cellular level) continued throughout on the 8th of July John started Glyconutrients Ambratose (A) and Phytoaloe (B) with an instant reduction of insulin which was 60 insulin for 45 years injecting 4 times per day

The healing plateaued due to a magnetic blanket on the bed (north and south poles) once it was removed the healing responded again, One cancelled out the other.

The body then accelerated again with Light for the foot and support for the kidneys and the Mannatech combination to deal with the insulin.

John's insulin is way down he will not be going on dialysis which was reiterated after being on Bioptron the 1st week, his appointment with the specialist in Hamilton was a month later to the surprise of the insulin reduction he was told there was no need.
