Joan: Osteoarthritis, Shingles, Eyes and Hearing

I have treated myself with the Bioptron Compact since September 2000. It was originally for Osteo Arthritis throughout my body with big problems in my left knee.

So when I had my accident at Auckland Airport (ending upside down on the escalator) last October, I realised how much the Osteo had progressed in 25 years!! Back in Canterbury after 24 hours in Middlemore Hospital, a good friend looked after me with her big Bioptron 2, while I used the Compact where I could.

Huge areas of bruising, "chew" marks all over my body from the escalator as well as the threat of Plastic Surgery on my hand; sore shoulders, neck and head were my legacy from the accident.

However, after the next few days of Bioptron treatment, the progress was staggering. These days I go to Rugby events etc. - I am walking better with minimal pain and can now write again. I am treating all the areas at least daily.

Also, I have had shingles for 3 years (head area). I keep it under control by treating it daily. As well the Bioptron light is great for my eyes (2 minutes daily for "Dry Eye"; Ears (Hearing Aid), then there are the wrinkles, corns, cuts and burns - not to mention the bad hair days due to shingles.

Just all those little things that make life so much more comfortable !!! Did I mention it - I am 81 years old.
