Jess: Severe Face, Hand and Leg Burns

To whom it may concern,

We have been asked by Graeme Inger (Bioptron Representative) to document our unfortunate experience.

The accident occurred late October 2001, when a methylated spirits burner was being used to fuel a steam-powered motor. The experiment had been completed and the flame presumed to have exhausted itself, unwittingly more meths was added to the container, this ignited the contents of the bottle creating an eruption of flaming meths which was projected 1.5-2 mtrs across the room engulfing our 10-year-old boy Jess on the face and head, upper body clothing and legs. He and his brother responded instantly, ripping off the flaming clothes and extinguishing the burning hair, creating severe burns to hands, head and inside legs, (it was noted that the shorts he was wearing were of a synthetic type, which melted to the leg creating the deepest scarring. He was put under a cold shower within two minutes of the incident occurring and stayed there for at least 10-15 minutes, we believe that this had a major effect on minimising the burning and with reducing the pain. When the cold and shock were affecting his situation, we donned a gown, applied wet towels and proceeded to get emergency attention.

We were dismayed with the approach of the medical profession, after pain-relief and admittance, the wounds were dressed by scrubbing off the crust and wanting to apply paraffin oil (petroleum-based) and pop all of his blisters. To this we declined, feeling that our body knows best, this intervention would have resulted in open wounds being exposed within a hospital environment, it just did not make sense! The only other "treatment" offered was drugs for pain relief; we were emitted within 24 hours. We encouraged Jess to drink lots of good water, and his wounds were continually kept soft with the application of lavender oil throughout the entire experience.

Arriving home (day 2), we were now able to start a comprehensive treatment process, having obtained the Bioptron light and handbook; Jess's wounds were sprayed before and after the light therapy with the Oxy Spray, (we used two 500ml bottles over the 8-day treatment). Using the blue lens, we applied the Bioptron light twice a day, for four minutes, point by point around the burnt areas, this process took approx. 2 hrs each sitting and was maintained for four days. We then reduced the time to two minutes each point for a further four days sometimes with the blue lens and sometimes without, Oxy Spray was applied to each point throughout, both before and after each light therapy.

The rapid regeneration of new skin was amazing, with a noticeable improvement by the hour in the first few days. After 4-5 days, the scabs started to shed revealing beautiful new skin underneath. We noticed that with the areas where the scabs were picked off prematurely longer-term scarring or a highlighted pink coloured skin tone has resulted, all other areas except where the melted pants adhered, the new skin had formed within one week of the application of the light treatment.

When her 10-year-old son Jess suffered severe methylated spirits burns to his face hands and legs, Warkworth woman Debra Taylor was afraid her son would carry the physical as well as emotional scars for life.

However, after using a futuristic tool a kind of colour acupuncture treatment called the Bioptron light on her son for just a month, Jess experienced an almost miraculous healing.

The severe burning on his face, hands and legs has healed to such a degree, virtually no scarring is now visible at all. “The rapid regeneration of new skin was amazing,” says Debra. “There was a noticeable improvement by the hour in the first few days. My father was convinced that Jess would be left scarred and even he's amazed at the result.”

It was late last year when Jess was badly burned after a Bunsen burner full of meths, which he was using at home for a science experiment, exploded. His father immediately placed Jess under a cold shower and gave him the homeopathic remedy Canthans, then took him to hospital.

The next day Debra and husband David Kay brought Jess home and began immediate treatment with the Bioptron light, initially for two-hour sessions twice a day, then decreasing the time as the healing rapidly began.

To supplement the treatment, Debra and David also applied high grade lavender oil to the burned areas. Within four days, scabs began to shed, revealing beautiful new skin underneath.

“Within a month, Jess was back on the water sailing in his Optimist, with a large brimmed hat and good sunscreen protection,” says Debra. “At this point, it was hard to notice the ordeal he had endured!”

We all are most grateful to have had the use of the Bioptron light for the treatment of our son Jess, his recovery has been astounding, to that we can assume that the treatment described hereto has helped with such a pleasing result.
