Bruce: Rheumatoid Arthritis and Pain Control

Pamela first started telling me about the light late in 1999. I had chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis for a number of years and was reduced from an always-active motor mechanic to a prematurely old man within weeks of the onset. To make matters worse I suffered from Polymyalgia as well which meant that my muscles became very sore and wasted away. I had tried all the cures in the book and then eaten the book! NOTHING WORKED except cortisone injections and then only for a few weeks at a time.

I was totally sceptical about the light. So much so that my wife didn't even tell me that Fern was bringing it out for a demo until she actually arrived. Anything to keep Pamela quiet!

Over several hours Fern used the light on my legs and knees, which were preventing me from even walking they were so painful. I also had swelling over the carpal tunnel, which just seemed to disappear within a short time after treatment. The most amazing thing was after the treatment I was able to get up and walk up and down the front stairs without too much discomfort. I was even able to take Fern to my garage and show her my vintage cars. I would never have believed it if it hadn't happened to me personally.

So I bought a Bioptron compact and have now been using it for 11 months. It has not cured my arthritis or polymyalgia but it helps enormously with pain control and I have been able to reduce the cortisone.

For example, I suffer from sore ankles and I use the light for 6-8 minutes on each side of the ankle. This eases the pain within 30 minutes to 2 hours and I can walk more freely again. For niggling pain I use it every 2nd day and for more severe pain 2 times a day.

My skin has become frail and wounds easily (a combination of age and medication side effects) I have found the light invaluable to aid healing. I developed a small ulcer like sore on my leg and with daily light treatment it healed up within 2-3 weeks and has not returned.

I developed severe earache, went to a doctor and was told that because my throat was inflamed and there was no medication that would help as I had already tried eardrops. I tried the light when I got home and the pain went away within a couple of hours. Bruises that I collect easily are drawn out and disappear quickly.

Although I still have my arthritis and probably always will, my joints have remained very flexible to the amazement of my specialist. Many of my friends have bought a light knowing what it has done for me and I have gone from a sceptic to a believer to an advocate.
